Raising children has never been an easy task, but today's families face challenges that previous generations could hardly imagine.  From navigating an endless stream of online health information to making decisions about vaccines, nutrition, handling illnesses and preventive care, parents are often expected to become experts overnight.

As a pediatrician with 19 years of experience, I've spent my career helping families navigate these questions. This blog is an extension of those conversations.  Together, we'll review pediatric health and wellness topics, current medical news, and the evidence behind common health recommendations. My hope is to provide practical guidance that helps children thrive and families feel informed, empowered and supported.

My Story

I was born and raised in southeastern Virgina and I have always been passionate about health, education, and helping others.

My educational journey began at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Viginia, where I completed my undergraduate studies before earning my medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2004.  I then moved to Georgia to complete my pediatric residency training at the Medal College of Georgia, finishing residency in 2007.

Since then, I have had the privilege of practicing general pediatrics in both Virginia and Georgia, caring for children from infancy through adolescence and partnering with parents through every stage of childhood. Today, I continue to practice pediatrics in Georgia where I remain deeply committed to promoting children's health and well-being.

Beyond medicine, I am a wife and mother to two wonderful teenage children.  I love to travel and go to the beach.  Our family is rounded out by a lively group of furry companions- a Labrador Retriever, an Australian shepherd, and a beloved cat- who keep life interesting and full of laughter.

My Pediatric Philosophy

I believe that caring for children is about so much more then treating illness.  It's about building relationships with families and walking hand-in-hand with them through the many stages of childhood.   I have had the privilege of watching children grow from tiny newborns into confident young adults- and of supporting their parents throughout the joys, questions, challenges and sometimes worries that come with each stage.
My goal is to be a trusted partner for families: a source of reliable, evidence-based health information, a coach through illnesses, and a guide to help navigate the many decisions that some with raising healthy children.  Pediatrics is a partnership.  From newborn care and developmental milestones, nutrition, safety, to adolescence and everything in between, I believe parents deserve clear information and compassionate guidance.  Ultimately, caring for children means caring for the whole family- and it is a privilege I never take for granted.
